About Us

The Equestrian Club at the University of Central Florida was founded in 2002 with four members that were the sole caretakers of UCF's Equine Mascot, "Pegasus." Today, the club is considered a "Tier Three" Sport Club at UCF and includes three competitive teams with over 50 members.

The Equestrian Club at UCF  brings together people who share a passion for horses and has both competitive and non-competitive members. You do not need any prior horse experience to be a member of the club!

How To Become a Member

You can become a member of the Equestrian Club at UCF by attending any of the monthly meetings and paying the $20 club dues. Everyone has the opportunity to try out for any of the three teams or be a non-competitive member. All members must create an account on Knight Connect to become an official member of the club. For more information please email [email protected].

Non-Competitive Members

Although non-competitive members do not ride on a team, they have the opportunity to participate in all club events.
Other club activities include volunteering, participating in club fundraisers, and venturing out on club trail rides. Any of the club members may also take lessons with any of the team coaches even if they are not on a team.

Competitive Members

The Equestrian Club at UCF has three competitive teams: Hunt Seat, Western, and Eventing, our newest team. For Hunt Seat and Western, you DO NOT have to own your own horse! These two teams compete in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association. We encourage all potential team members to research this organization before trying out.
All teams require members to be a full-time student and maintain a 2.5 GPA. In addition to academic requirements, all team members must volunteer at least twice a semester, take weekly lessons with the team coach, and attend all Equestrian Club meetings.
Tryouts for each team are held at the beginning of every fall and spring semester. More information about each team can be located here: Hunt Seat, Western, and Eventing.
